I have bought two of the King size Adirondack chairs and I could not be happier! They were sent quickly and just the overall process was easy. Honestly I was concerned because I had to put the chairs together. I'm really not good at stuff like that. I had read reviews and people were complaining, and I was nervous. I opened the box, unpacked everything and laid everything out and got to work. Even with my limited skill set, I had no issues! It just takes a little time. Couldn't imagine being any happier, excellent product!

These are the Adirondack chairs that have missing from my life!  We bought these to go around our fire pit and we couldn't be happier.  They are heavy and very well made.  The bottom legs are thick and sturdy.  We have had cheap Adirondack chairs in the past and this was a piece that tended to break.  Not a concern with these King Hamiltons. They were easy to put together.  We bought six and I had them assembled in less than two hours.  The high back is slightly curved and very comfortable.  We also really like the design of the arms.  They are flat, so you can rest a beverage on them, they had structural support, so they are sturdy and they start thick and thin out towards the back of the chair which is a feature my husband really enjoyed. Cons - they do fold for stacking and storage but don't expect them to lay completely flat.  They are heavy and bulky (which I consider a good thing).  They are big so if you are less than 5'7"" expect that your feet won't touch the ground. Overall we are thrilled with these chairs and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Wonderful Adirondack chairs

I have 5 of these highwood chairs and they are wonderful to say the least.  I bought them from a different retailer.  They are light and fold up nicely for easy carrying.  When they are set up, they are very strong.  Sounds like these bad reviews are for this retailer, not the manufacturer.  Like wood, they will scratch.  They are the same color throughout, so not touch-up paint is ever needed.  You can lightly sand them too.

Recently I had purchased the polywood wood big daddy.  It had gotten great reviews. When I got it and put it together, I sat in it and then took it apart and sent it back.  It was small and uncomfortable. Don't know who is reviewing it, but it's not worth the money,  I then sent for the highwood king, which had been my first choice all along.  This chair in superior to the big daddy.  It is comfortable.  The seat depth and height of the back is perfect.  It also reclines and folds.

I love this chair!!

Nice roomy chair.  Comfortable with nice arms to rest my cup of coffee.  Good for tall people.  Easy to assemble by myself, but a second set of hands would have made it easier.  Clear directions.

The free shipping took only 3 days.  Chair packaging quality was impressive.  No damage or missing parts.  Instructions were good and assembly was easy except one of the Torx screws stripped out. Easily replaced with a much better phillips head screw.  Chair looks great, is very comfortable, feels solid.  Back is curved, not flat.  Its plenty large enough for me and I am 6'5"" and 290 lbs.

I like this. The material does not seem as sturdy as a traditional wood adirondack, but the color, texture, and appearance are great. The fact that is wont rot or fade is a huge plus. Easy to assemble, and very comfy to relax in. Thumbs up

Comfy

First chair went together uneventfully.  Second chair is a problem.  Drill bit does NOT fit the screws, screws are minus the white paint, ""B"" screws don't fit because the receiving threads don't match.  I paid a lot of money and expect better.  Now let's see if Hayneedle makes good.

Well, I asked for, and received the correct chairs this time.  However, only 1 of the 4 was relatively free from scratches.  The 3 other chairs all had numerous and deep scratches.  The composite material is obviously prone to scratching and they apparently don't provide any type of touch-up paint.  You're getting one more chance.  I hope you don't mess up.

Strike 2

After considerable research and reflection on the cost, I decided to purchase four of these chairs and two side tables.  Upon receiving the shipment, I noticed the boxes were damaged.  Additionally, I discovered the chairs were not the ones I paid for.  In fact, they were considerably cheaper and by appearance, not very well made.  In addition, when I opened the first chair and the side tables, I immediately observed significant damage (broken parts and excessive scratches).  The furniture had very minimal packing: in fact, the tables had none.  It's easy to see why there was damage to the furniture.    I called the service center, and I'll admit, the representative was helpful.  I received postage to return the chairs and tables.  At first, I simply wanted to replace the chairs and tables.  However, I'm seriously considering asking for a full refund considering the way the furniture was packaged and the significant damage I noticed.  Can they send these very expensive items un-damaged?  I have serious doubts.
