Rugged Mixer with Built-in Effects and USB Interface

With excellent sound quality, built-in effects, and a built-in 4 x 4 USB audio interface, the Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX is a smart mixer for small-format studio and stage applications. Connect four microphones or mono line-level signals, or even two instruments without the need for DI boxes. Two additional stereo channels are available for synthesizers, drum machines, and other line-level sources. Record and play back two channels of 24-bit/96kHz audio via USB without the need for a separate interface. Add reverbs, delays, and combinations of the two with built-in effects processing. Factor in its exceptional build quality, and the compact Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX mixer stands out in its class.

Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX 10-channel Mixer at a Glance:
  • Record 24-bit/96kHz audio direct to your DAW
  • Built-in effects with tap tempo
  • GSPre preamps based on the GS-R24 recording console
  • Connect guitar and bass directly, no need for DI boxes
Record 24-bit/96kHz audio direct to your DAW

With USB 2.0 connectivity, the Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX mixer is ready to record and play back 24-bit/96kHz audio. Just connect to your computer or iOS device, open the included Cubase LE software, Cubasis LE app, or your preferred DAW software, and you're ready to go. Separate controls for the USB playback channels allow you to blend USB audio with the Main Mix and Aux Mix independently.

Built-in effects with tap tempo

The Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX mixer boasts built-in effects including lush reverbs, delays, and combinations of the two. Even better, tap tempo allows you to quickly sync delay effects with the tempo of your music. If desired, you can route the effects return to the headphone mix while leaving them out of the main mix - perfect for giving vocalists some "comfort reverb" during tracking.

GSPre preamps based on the GS-R24 recording console

Don't be hesitant to plug your best mics into the Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX. This compact mixer boasts GSPre preamplifiers, created by analog guru Mike Griffin and based on his acclaimed GS-R24 recording console. These preamps provide lots of headroom and very little noise, and promise to deliver pleasing warmth and depth. Whether you're podcasting or recording vocals for a music project, expect great results from the ZEDi-10FX's GSPre preamps.

Connect guitar and bass directly, no need for DI boxes

You won't need separate direct boxes to connect your guitar or bass to the ZEDi-10FX mixer, unlike many other compact mixers. The first two channels have switchable hi-Z inputs: just hit the switch and connect any electric or acoustic-electric instruments you like. Engage the low-cut filter to help reduce rumble and unwanted low frequencies, then shape your sound to taste with the 3-band EQ.

Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX 10-channel Mixer Features:
  • Rugged compact mixer with 2 mono channels, 2 stereo channels, and USB recording/playback
  • Multimodel effects include reverbs, delays, and combination effects
  • 4-in/4-out USB 2.0 interface supports 24-bit/96kHz audio quality
  • Includes Cubase LE DAW software for Mac/PC, and Cubasis LE app for iOS
  • GSPre mic preamps offer high headroom and low noise floor
  • Connect guitars and basses without separate DI boxes thanks to switchable hi-Z inputs
  • Low-cut filters to reduce rumble and other unwanted low frequencies
  • Effective sound shaping from 3-band EQs
  • Channels can be individually assigned to the headphone mix
  • XLR outputs for studio monitors or powered PA speakers
  • Smooth 60mm fader for controlling your main mix
  • Rotary controls are secured to the faceplate with steel nuts for maximum durability
The Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX mixer is a great value for studio or stage use.

Great mixer

I'm very happy with this mixer. Right now I have inputs from condenser mic, 1 mono synth, and 2 stereo keyboards. All is working very well—haven't yet had time to play with effects.

In case this is helpful to others, I spent a lot of time trying to connect the mixer to my Mac with a USB-b cable but kept getting serious hum in the mains and no usb connection. I finally realized I was using a generic cable instead of the one that shipped with the mixer. I swapped them and now all is well. Phew!

BLUE, KANGAROO, EFFECT NUMBER 92! HUT HUT HIKE!!!

I've had mine for about a year now. For the money it's unbeatable. I love the analog tracking - mute the track in the daw and just monitor through the board. You can doll it up with EQ and effects (that sound GREAT) and still take a pure dry into the DAW to be edited and boujied up later - no tracking time wasted messing with buffering sizes and plugins and loading screens and signing in and forgetting your other ilok for that plugin and everything I hate about all digital tracking. It's fantastic. The A&H hardware sounds amazing and I'm impressed with it at this price point. The AD/DA won't blow your socks off if you're used to recording above 96khz, but I do slightly prefer the conversion on this to a 2i2 at 96khz. 2i2 is absolutely transparent with the air off. I like the color on this unit a little more to the focusrite air - sounds more console-y. Can't tell a difference @ 44.1

Aside from the meat and potatoes; One of the happiest times of my life was putting 4 mics on a drum set, putting on a pair of closed backs, getting a bomb sounding 4 channel mix in like 2 minutes, turning on effect number 92, big gated reverb that cuts off quickly, on all 4 channels and just BEING Phil Collins for a while in my own head. With NO. Latency. No Computer. For $. That alone was worth it knowing I can also record with it. You could do the same thing with a $ behringer board, I'm sure. But it doesn't sound like the A&H. This is an all tube Marshall compared to a solid state Crate in that regard. Individual Boards for each channel strip. Each Channel. Has it's OWN. Transformer... Other boards are a giant pcb. That and the outputs are XLR. *CLAPS* I can't sell this thing any harder folks.

I've also had a Zed6 for 3 years now and that little thing is just dandy.

GREAT MIXER! BAAAD Electric plug.

I own two A&H Zed Mixers. Sonic quality blows away everything else. Koodos for sound quality. BUT!!!! look at the electric plug. What are going to do the day you forget to bring the proprietary plug to the show? You are dead in the water. Why did A&H change to this? Did they save 50 cents? I will buy them again when they use the standard (computer style) electric plug that is common on most every audio product. IS THIS A PERSONAL BITTERNESS... thankfully I found a cable at a Salvation Army store and got the gig up and running only 30 minutes late.
PS: I love Sweetwater!

Best Bang for Buck

This mixer has the features and build quality of mixers 5x its price. 10 channels, 4 channel multi-track recording, onboard fx, and more. I've had this thing for a year and I've barely scratched the surface of its use cases.

I currently use it as my main audio interface in my little studio, and it works well enough for that. As an interface it's not as user friendly as the scarlett suite, but it makes up for it in versatility.

If you need to multi-track record, this thing is outstanding. I keep dedicated mono channels for my guitar and mic rigs, and a stereo channel for my hardware synthesizer rig. 3 band EQ, on-board FX, AUX AND FX sends mean you can shape your tone and work in outboard rack mounted gear before the sound ever hits your PC.

I haven't used this thing in a live setting yet, but it has all the features you want in a live mixer (XLR Main Outs are you kidding me?) Want to add verb or delay on the fly? Do it. There's even a tap tempo. Want to monitor a dry signal and push a wet signal out? Go ahead. Wanna do the opposite? Heck yeah.

My only complaint is that the USB connection is a lot flimsier than I'd hope, especially since it is the linchpin that holds my entire studio together. Eventually I'll get a different interface, but this mixer will always be sitting right in front of it. It's just too useful.

Allen & Heath ZEDI-10FX

This mixer has it all, it makes the very best sound, and my voice also shows off much better than any other mixer I have ever used.
