My Favorite Sticks

Well of course I returned to Vater Power 5A sticks again. I don't know why, every once in a while, I think I need to try a different stick. These are my favorite. A bit longer than standard 5A, but have that perfect diameter for me. A slight front weight to 'em, and that great barrel tip. I've tried the acorn tip, but I always return to these barrel tips. I've tried so many other brands but seem to always return to the Vater Power 5A. They just feel good.

Excellent live stick when paired with Vater stick wrap!

I have used all the major brands and often switch between 5A and 5B sticks. When I tried these at a local store the demo pair felt immediately comfortable and well balanced even though it's a very long stick. What I like best is the thicker shoulder for durability but when adding the Vater stick wrap it changes it to feel like a rear weight stick much like a Promark Rebound. So for me its the best of everything I like: good power, good rebound and good reach which has worked great for live shows especially outdoor venues when I really got to hit hard. Lastly, its a few dollars less than others in that class which is nice!

Still my favorite

I've been using the Power 5a for over 10 years now. Perfect for anyone looking for a little bit more stick and length than a typical 5a. Nice barrel tip design for full drum tone. They are paired well but some are denser/heavier than others. I actually prefer the heavier ones when I can find them.

These Sticks are awesome

I've used many different brand drum sticks like Vic Firth and Promark until one day i went to my local music store were i lived and said i needed a 5A stick with extra length and i was recommended vater drum sticks it is 16 1/2 long and its better to reach my drums effortless. It feels like a hybrid of a 5A and a 5B stick and that's the feeling i'm looking for if you want a stick that feels great to use buy this model stick you will not regret it.

Great sticks, poor consistency

Ordered 10 pairs. Although matched pairs, there was a large discrepancy on sizing. Unless I took a caliper and measured each pair individually, don't expect a perfect feel left to right if you use a full stick bag like I do.
In the future I would hope they would try and match the diameter from each pair better.
