Best drum sticks ever. Bad packaging for shipping.

Excellent product. I'm not going to refer to that. I particularly want to highlight the problems with packaging for shipping. This item and the others I purchased were placed at the bottom of a cardboard box, the protective padding was only placed on top, leaving the bottom of the box unprotected, where the package can take the most hits. To make matters worse, the box arrived deformed, evidence that it got wet during shipping. Fortunately the items arrived safely, but it is the worst packaging I have ever seen.

Best stick ever

This stick can do it all… and it does it so effortlessly!
The rebound and feel is just incredible. If you play lighter to medium cymbals the ping and stick definition is way more definitive given the smaller tip. My Agop's and Paiste Masters never sounded so alive.

It doesn't matter if I am playing funky or jazzy, heck if I even want to turn up the volume I certainly can as these have plenty of beef in the handle.

Thanks to Vic and Peter

I have been playing these sticks for a long time. I've not found a stick that makes ride cymbals sound better. It's magic. I use them any time I am playing anything in the jazz/funk/soul/pop realm. The 5A ish shaft is great for balancing out the severe taper. Unlike the original Erskine signature stick, that was all just skinny top to bottom. 90% percent of my gigs and recordings over the last decade plus have been with these.

Best Jazz Stick for me

Through the years, I tried a lot of different models of sticks that were designed for playing jazz. While many of them sounded good on the cymbals and drums, I also found most of them were just a bit too small for my hands, which negatively impacted my playing. When I tried using some larger models of sticks for jazz, they just gave off too big of sound than was appropriate for jazz situations. Finally, after a few other percussionists recommended these, I gave the Erskine Ride Sticks a try and haven't looked back since. They're about the same size as a beefy 5a, which is great for my hands. However, unlike some of the other larger models I tried, these still get a nice mellow tone without too much attack out of the cymbals and drums that works great for jazz thanks to their very thin tear drop style tips. These have been my go to stick for jazz and big band situations for over a decade now and I'd highly recommend them to anyone who needs a slightly beefier stick for jazz playing.

I immediately fell in love with these sticks!

I mean .. what else can I say? It's called an "Ride Stick" for a reason, but man does it deliver in the name. I mainly used 5A sticks, but I never felt like I could find an stick that gave me that perfect sound when riding the ride .. until now! If you're very picky about the tip of your sticks when it comes to the ride cymbal, get these!
