Beautiful cymbal sound!

I decided to try these out after becoming mesmerized by Brian Blade's sound and reading that he played these sticks. I hear it now. That dry, woody click on the cymbals. That airy, breathy tone on the drums. It's all here. No, they won't make you play like Brian Blade, but I see now how these sticks are definitely part of his signature sound. They sound and feel absolutely incredible. Hefty in the grip, but very light and controllable thanks to the maple construction and tiny round tip. I absolutely adore these sticks and will not be without them.

My new favorite drumstick, Versatility and comfort for larger hands

I've always loved 2B diameter drumsticks for my large hands, however the volume and weight of many hickory 2B sticks on the market is an issue for more light, dynamic playing. I had started using Vic Firth Matt Garstka and Dave Weckl 5A sized sticks and enjoyed the lighter feel and punchy sound but still missed the comfortable feeling a 2B stick has in my hand.

Enter the SD2 (also SD1)... Maple lightweight and .635 diameter. Feels really comfortable in my hands, the small tip sounds great on cymbals, and they seem to be more durable than my 5a sized sticks despite the lighter density maple construction.
