Such a Simple Upgrade Made a Monumental Difference.

I was already pretty happy with the tone from my vintage 1970 Fender Princeton Reverb, but it broke up at about 2 1/2 and when I needed a bit more volume it lost it's "chimey clean Fender tone. I didn't want a modification that would detract from the originality of the amp and didn't want to cut any part of the cabinet for a larger speaker. So I replaced the stock Fender speaker with this Eminence Ragin Cajun speaker and WOW! The amp sounds better than I would have ever imagined, it's like all that Fender goodness had been bottled up inside trying to get out and the floodgates just opened. It has tremendous bottom end, all of the Fender sparkle I love and the volume has doubled. It is night and day and I thought it sounded really good before I switched the speaker! Can't recommend this improvement enough! Took all of 10 minutes to do. I unsoldered the wires from the old speaker and resoldered to the new speaker, but you could just replace the plug in wire to make it a two minute job. And ,if I ever want the amp back to bone stock original, it's no probs to put the original speaker back in.

Great Speaker Upgrade!

Upgraded a Fender Super Champ X2... Much stronger speaker. Sounds like a different amp! Speaker is 3X heavier than ordinal Fender speaker that came with amp.

Perfect for my Fender Super Champ X2

I bought this speaker as an upgrade to the stock speaker in my Fender Super champ X2. I've had this amp for several years and really like it, but wanted to smooth out the tone a bit. This Ragin Cajun was just the ticket. Initial impression is smoother, fatter tone and a bit more volume. Total time to fit the new speaker was about 10 minutes. I'm happy with the result.

PUT IT IN A TONEMASTER PRINCETON

I don't care what some will say the Jensen in my new Tonemaster Princeton is fine for bedroom playing and thats it. After seeing a couple reviews were someone put this in their Princeton I took the chance. Now the Jensen weighs 2.65 pounds with a 10 oz speaker. The Cajun is 6.4 pounds with a 30 oz speaker. My car has better speakers then the Jensen. I can hang with my little Princeton at a loud blues jam. Run the volume way up and not fizz. Keeps the Fender sound. Add a Tube Screamer set low for breakup.

Great upgrade for a Fender Super Champ XD

Can only speak for this speaker in a Fender Super Champ XD, but it's a fantastic upgrade to the stock speaker. It's louder, more complex sounding, with more midrange and better string to string definition. Piece of cake to install, took all of 10 minutes. I'd read that it doesn't play as well with the amp models in channel 2, but it sounds great to me.
