Great for small studio or band.

Bought this as a "pre-amp" more or less as I'm basically building an old-school component stereo from PA equipment and needed something to switch between inputs and offer me one stop volume adjustment. I do a little music production for personal consumption, but am also considering picking up a Strat or J-Bass, so not a wasted purchase in reality.

Anyway, this unit is nice and quiet electrically. Even "opened up" I have no hiss from my speakers if no signal is present. I frequently look at it to make sure it's on.

All the linear and rotary Pots are smooth and silent; maybe the linear pots are a little touchy, but that could be my inexperience as this is my first mixer. I have found simply using two fingers instead of one to move the linear pots gives me precision control. One finger though, and you can move the pot a lot farther than intended, and a little bit goes a long way with this unit. It's sensitive.

The rear XLR/TRS/TS/RCA connections are all tight and firm. Wiggling connectors does not introduce noise or cause signal drop-out.

I have not tried the FX, but I assume it's the same as any other Behringer product with these built-in effects. In other words, adequate to get the job done but there's far better to be had.

The 2-way EQ on each channel works well and sounds very good and balanced when manipulated.

I see no issues throwing this in a travel case and using it at gigs for a live band, or even as a backup. I'm not a Behringer fanboy by any means, but I do seem to be buying more and more of their products AND being more and more impressed with the company as I do.

Would recommend. Excellent value for the money. I honestly think you'd be hard pressed to find anything this good NEW for the same money.

Excellent Mixer For The Price

I needed a mixer to double for karaoke and a ceremony system and this unit fit the bill. I wasnt looking to put out a large investment for this project so this was perfect for having the main features I needed and it's extra nice to have the effects processor integrated into the unit ( perfect for adding a touch of effects to karaoke vocals ). The only things I wish the unit had that would make it better would be added compression / limiter feature but that would just drive the price up. So if it's a basic Mic / Line mixer your looking for you can't beat this for the price.

Simple Basic Good

Good sounding unit. 10 channels of input. Preamps sound good and FX are serviceable for a live gig. Hard to beat for the price. Single aux output for monitoring plus fx aux.

Simple mixer with some nice features. I've had good luck w Behringer products for local gigs on small and medium stages.

Gig ready

Just placed a preorder on this little gem. If you are playing small gigs and bring your own PA this is a no brainer. I have a small road case that is mixer can slip right into. The only similar mixer out there is Alesis and it does not have effects and is much more expensive. Behringer gear can be hit or miss but for less than $ it's definitely worth it. I've used, and abused, a couple Behringer mixers over the years and they held up to some pretty intense heat/outdoor/Oceanside gigs.

Desk mount mixer? Yep.

My use of this mixer may be a little unorthodox, but hear me out. I have a desk that has a myriad of rack mount spaces on it, that I use for my computer and radios (ham operator) as well as spending a good deal of time working on video production and listening to music. I wanted something to essentially optimize my desk space by allowing me to use my near field monitors for EVERYTHING - 3 radios, which greatly benefit from high quality external speakers when trying to make out weak stations, the computer, a dual deck CD player/recorder (also rack mounted) and my cell phone for other random audio.

Pros: It's rack mount, and it has allowed me to move many things off my desk to make more room for what I'm actually working on. It has some per channel EQ options which is nice, because some of the radios benefit from having some EQ options besides the often single EQ cut frequency built into the radio, often a high cut to reduce atmospheric noise. It's also nice to be able to pan channels - I realize this is standard on most mixers, but still - so that I can put, for instance, one radio in the right speaker, and one in the left to permit "focus" on audio from one radio without having to adjust anything. It has a good number of outputs and ways to control levels on those outputs, so I also am able to plug in my headphone amp (4 channel) to "share" some listening experience in headphones that produce better audio than my near fields.

Cons: This mixer DOES have some noise in it. To be clear, I have used toroids on EVERY wire/cable connected to it, and properly grounded it for being used in proximity to above average levels of RF. The RF control works, but even with no RF present, there is some hiss - it's not a deal breaker for me because it mostly only happens at higher levels. Because I can increase output levels on nearly everything connected to the mixer, I don't typically have to turn gains up very high on the mixer, so the hiss is minimized, but it's there, and people should be aware of that.

In short, I like this unit, it offers a format that isn't very common and fits well in the space I have for it, and does what I need, and allows some room for expansion. It's not perfect, but for the price, as long as you understand what you're getting into, I'd absolutely recommend it if it fits into the needs and use case you have.
