Great stand but you might need to wear steel-toed boots!

This is perfect for what I needed. I have a two lbs. mic on this stand and it takes the weight gracefully. You will see this pictured with a 4" tube extension, also by Atlas, in lieu of a boom arm. This is all I need for my purpose. I use this mic for vocals and for capturing drum room ambiance. The base of this stand weighs 20 lbs. so be careful around your toes. This setup is specifically for my heavy mic. otherwise I would typically use a boom. Thanks to Paul, my sales rep. for suggesting the stand and extension piece (Atlas part # AD14B).

In case you're wondering if it will work?!

This thing is a Sherman Tank. put my warm 251 on it with Auralex sound ISO shield on it threads up nicely, very easy to set up:) heavy duty is what I wanted and that's what i got ... can put my Rode k2 on there or slate M1 OR THE 251

Solid!

With a mic, screen, reflection filter, and an iPad holder (with iPad) mounted to it, this stand does not move, making it perfect for my purposes.

The Best

Okay so I'm showing my age Back in the sixties there was only one mic stand we all used Atlas. There is a good reason it was the best and no other company bothered to compete. Well I have a lot of mic stands since I own a studio and guess what most of them are other brands that do the job for less however for my main vocals, overheads and VO booth there is only one choice Atlas! Great stands still

Excellent Stand

I have several quite expensive heavy condenser mics.
This stand is perfect in my home studio.
Well built, very stable. Base is heavy enough to hold heavy mic with
fully extended boom arm without concerns of tipping over.
Would definitely recommend.
