Accurate Midfield Monitoring for Every Studio

JBL 308P MkII active studio monitors are a great near- and midfield solution for any serious audio engineer or music producer. They're great for mixing music in your DAW software, editing video, or any other task that requires monitoring accuracy. JBL designed the 308P MkII with advanced features acquired from their 7 Series and M2 Master Reference Monitor, making legendary JBL performance accessible to every studio. JBL's innovative Image Control Waveguide works in concert with refined transducers to deliver a well-defined and incredibly dimensional stereo image. Ask anyone at Sweetwater: from surprisingly rich lows to smooth highs, you'll find it easy to produce great-sounding recordings with JBL 308P MkII studio monitors.

Incredible stereo imaging thanks to an innovative waveguide

When you can clearly hear everything in your mix, you make accurate sonic judgments — which leads to better-sounding recordings. To that end, JBL applied innovative elements from their 7 Series and M2 Master Reference Monitors to give the 308P MkII truly impressive sound reproduction capabilities. The Image Control Waveguide design is one such feature, and it helps the 308P MkII present a deep, detailed soundstage and a wide, room-friendly sweet spot.

Wide sweet spot equals a better studio experience

We're engineers, musicians, and producers, too — we know you don't spend every second of your studio time in the ideal mixing position. JBL 308P MkII monitors have a broad sweet spot, which means there's less variation in what you hear when you're not in the perfect position. Especially if you have clients in the room, you want consistent sound throughout your studio, and you'll like what you hear from the 308P MkII.

Ported design for greater accuracy at low volume levels

Checking your mix at low volume levels is a great way to confirm your overall balances, but many monitors will suffer in the bass regions when monitoring at low levels. The JBL 308P MkII uses JBL's patented Slip Stream low-frequency port for accurate bass response at low playback levels. The double-flared port shape also reduces the turbulence some ported designs suffer from, meaning that bass response remains pure when you turn the 308P MkII back up.

Really good pair of studio monitors

They are a really good pair of studio monitors with amazing bass and insane clarity at all volumes. The only thing is that these are a bit bass heavy but that is probably because of my room and was very easy to fix with the boundary EQ. I would highly recommend putting these on stands or on isolation pads preferably at ear level. But other than that I would say these a great option for a first pair of studio monitors.

Clear, defined and capable in a small footprint

I was surprised how refined this speaker monitor set is as I have always had combinations of Yamaha and JBL nearfields for my studio work. The clarity, substantial low end and stereo imaging are the best yet. I am thrilled with this purchase. And at the current sale price, they are a steal.

LOW PRICE, GREAT SOUND, EXTREME CLARITY

These monitors from JBL sound fantastic, my mixes were translating immediately as soon as I started using them. I love flat response monitors and that is exactly what these sound like, just right! The high frequency wave guide gives them a wonderful huge sweet spot. When I want big bass I turn on my subwoofer but most of the time I leave it off because these monitors sound so good all by themselves.

Good music to you!

Incredible Reproduction

I bought these for a home studio. I've been mixing with a good set of headphones but wanted something that could double as a casual listening and mastering speaker.
First things first: These are better than my JBL LX 44s for casual listening. I am hearing details that I never knew existed. You can hear background noise in the studio in songs that I've been listening to for 40 years. It's crazy. Sometimes it makes me turn the music down because I think my dog is getting into something LOL
The downside is that songs that are poorly mastered will sound pretty bad on these! Thankfully that is a small percentage of the music I listen to.
They are PLENTY loud for my 15x15 ish spare bedroom. If I turn them up half way they fill the (1800 sq ft) house and if I turn them up all the way you can hear them from the patio room.
If these came in white I'd get a set for the living room to upgrade my wife's soundbar. But alas...
I'm sure there must be better speakers out there but it's hard for me to believe that using these is a true disadvantage.
Especially at this price point. Completely satisfied and then some.

These speakers are doing yeoman duty at my church! Zero complaints!

I purchased a pair several years ago to use at my church. Through them I play my virtual pipe organ on Sundays that we don't have an organist. Pipe organ sounds are very demanding to reproduce, but in concert with my subwoofer, these speakers deliver lifelike volumes without breaking a sweat. Yes, I can hear the faint idle noise up close, but in my church environment with the speakers in the balcony, it's totally inaudible from the pews below. I like these enough that I just purchased the 305P MkII's to use when my choir sings with backing tracks that I create. Highly recommended.
Music background: amateur organist, choir member, and cantor
