Vintage-style Tuners You Can Rely On

Grover Vintage 135N guitar tuning machine heads are a marvel of engineering and design. These tuners have a gear ratio of 14:1, and a housing that provides optimal bearing for worm, gear and string post. Precision-cut worm and gear serve up perfect meshing, eliminating backlash and slippage. Sweetwater knows that keeping your guitar in tune is important, and we're confident that Grover tuners can do the job. Washers, bushings and wood screws are included with this set of six Grover Vintage 135N vintage-styled guitar tuning machine heads.

Grover: exceptional quality and lifetime warranty

Grover has been keeping the world's finest stringed instruments in tune for over a century. Grover started out in the late 1800's producing banjo and guitar tuning machine heads. Eventually the company expanded into making tuners for mandolin, dulcimer, ukulele, violin, pedal steel, and bass guitar. Inventor of the enclosed, permanently lubricated machine head, Grover tuners are original equipment on many of the world's finest string instruments. Grover employs only the finest materials and manufacturing methods, and stands behind their products with their lifetime warranty: "Should your Grover tuners ever fail, for any reason, simply return them to us for a fast and friendly no charge repair or replacement."

Grover 135N Vintage Tuning Machines

Brandon did an excellent job helping me find these machine heads.

Note, however, these are not "plug & play"items. Special tooling is required for the removal of the existing bushings. Once the bushings are removed, each hole in the headstock has to be reamed out. Special tooling is also required to install the Grover bushings. Unless the buyer is very handy and has the necessary tooling, they should plan to hire a professional luthier to perform this change out.

Great Tuning Machines!

The tuners I took off looked almost the same but when I put on 60-10 GHS strings they felt like they were under a great strain and one of them stripped out (high B string) first string change lol So I got out my drill bit widened the holes to fit these new ones I bought from Sweetwater and they fit right in and work SOOOOOOOOOO much better. The holes lined up for the screws and once I had the big hole widened I was done in a very short time! Love these tuners and have at least 1 more set I need to install yet on another LP I own. Probably 2 because I have one in shipment now and I doubt it will be quality like I demand such as these Grovers! Super worth the money and effort to buy and install!!!! I have a locking trem but I use Tone Vice so that way I can just tune normally no allen wrench needed and I use fine tuners for small adjustments only.

Solid tuning stability!

I purchase these to be installed on my Gibson, Les Paul studio as I am not a fan of the more modern style tuning keys, the Gibson/Kluson were just a little more than I wanted to spend and Grover has an awesome reputation for high-quality tuning keys. They are nice and smooth and stay in tune. In my opinion, the quality of these seem better than the Gibson/Kluson version. If you're looking for a good vintage spec style tuner, I highly recommend these.

Grover 135N Vintage Tuning Machines

This is the second set I have bought to replace the chrome Grover tuners on my Epiphone Les Pauls. I love the vintage look and the hold the guitar in tune better. A+

Great Tuners - Easy Installation

These Grovers were perfect-fit drop-in replacements for the worn-out and separating original tuners on my '89 Gibson Flying V. The entire swap-out process took less than an hour and was very simple. They look almost identical to the original equipment.
Music background: Former performing guitarist. Current guitar hobbyist.
